Eddy's Papers
The reference checker is powered by Eddy's Papers, built by Eduard Brüll (ZEW): a corpus of roughly 455,000 economics papers drawn from RePEc and EconLit. That corpus is entirely his work, not ours. He gave us access while his own service is still in preview, and every check run here costs him compute.
His tools are worth using directly:

Paper sources
Paper metadata comes from OpenAlex, arXiv and Semantic Scholar, each of which makes a substantial public good freely available. Open-access resolution uses Unpaywall. Details on sources and coverage.
The papers themselves
Copyright in every indexed paper belongs to its authors and publishers. This site holds metadata, machine-generated assessments and short extracted claims, and links out to the original in every case. If you are an author and want your work handled differently here, get in touch and it will be dealt with.
Using what is on this site
Summaries, assessments, gradings and syntheses on this site are machine-generated. You are welcome to read, quote and link to them, with two requests that are really the same request:
- Attribute the paper, not us. If a finding is useful, cite the original research. We are an index.
- Do not present a grade as a verified fact. Every label here is an unreviewed model judgement. See known limitations.
